49th Multiple District 308 Lions Convention

                         

    49th Multiple District 308 Lions Convention

12 Lions from our Club attended the 49th. MD 301 Convention that was held in Ipoh from 29th.April-2nd. May 2011.

The voting delegates were President Lim, Patrick Chew, Desmond Han,

Pang Kaih Yean, Tee Piaw Tian, Ang Chee

Siong, PDG James Pang and PDG Siah Yok Lin.

In the 2nd. VDG election, Ln. T C Lau from Lions Club of O. U. G won by 2 votes against Ln. Alan Yong of Lions

Club of Damansara.

Incoming President Pang Kai Yean, Secretary Yeo Teck Hock, Treasurer Desmond Han and Asst. Secretary Kenard

Tan Peng Loong attended the Key Officer School.

The good news for our members were that our Club was once again chosen as one of the Top Club in MD 301 B-1. 

Other Awards were Top President, Top Secretary, Excellence Award for Treasurer, Top Fund Raising, Lions Education Funds,

Media and Publicity, Bulletin and Newsletter and Signature Project Award.

 

 

Health Talks & Blood Sugar Test

 

Health Talk

Dr. Ding Choo Chang and Dr. Lim Xiang Ching from Mahkota Specialist Hospital were invited by our Club to conduct an awareness of Breast Cancer and Diabetes at SJKC Li Chi on 12^th. Mac.

Dr. Ding stress on the types of food we take and how to control our sugar level. Dr. Lim encourages that women must have medical checkup at least once a year. She also teaches the lady on self examination.

Blood Donation – UiTM

Lions Club of Segamat with the cooperation of Segamat District Blood Bank organized a blood donation drive at Uitm Segamat on the 7^th. Mac. A total of 160 bags were collected.

International Relation

 

Lions Club of Surabaya Srikandi

President  Lianawati Tjokrohartono from the Lions Club of Surabaya Srikandi, visited us on the 5^th. Mac. She was going to Malacca with family members and took the trouble to change her itinerary. President Lim contacted the members and had lunch with them at Seong Hai Kee Restaurant.

After Flood Service

Our Club participated in a joint project with JKKK Kg. Abdullah and PDRM on the 6^th. March. Lions were there to assist the local community in making Police Reports for insurance claims and damaged and lost documents.

 

Leos Leadership Champ 2011

 

Essence of Excellence 

Leo Leadership Camp 2011, organized by the Lions Club of Segamat was held at SJKC Li Chi on 5^th.-6^th. Of March. Leos from Canonssian Convent, Sekolah Tinggi, Seg Hwa, Paduka Tuan, Jementah and Labis participated.

After registration, all participants were given T-Shirts bearing this year theme, Essence of Excellence; sponsored by Organizing Chairman, DC for Youth Program, Region 7 Lion Tee Piaw Tian.

Leadership and motivation talks were conducted by Guest of Honor, PDG James Pang, DC for Leadership Training, Lion T.C.Lau and DC for Leadership Development and Mentor      Region 7.

Before the closing ceremony, Awards and Certificate of Excellence were presented to deserving Leo Club and Leos.

Flood Relief

CIMB Bank Berhad and Lions Club of Segamat jointly organized a fund distribution to needy students affected by the recent floods on the 19^th. February 2011.

100 students from five Primary Schools, SJKC Li Chi, SK Kg. Jawa, SJKT Jln. Genuang, SK Canonssian Convent and SJKC Seg Hwa were chosen to receive the aid. Heads of School, teachers, representatives from CIMB, Lions and parents were present to witness the contributions; Rm 250 to each student, totaling Rm 25,000.
